| The Green Mamba was developed based on a special request from the Legion Noire who wished to round out their Gear forces for covert operations. As such, the Green Mamba was developed to work both alone and in tandem with the Snakeye Black Mamba and Chameleon Gears, in conjunction with the other machines, the Green brings additional firepower and electronic warfare capabilities to stealth cadres. In lone operations, the Green Mamba was conceived with long range commando operations in mind.
Based on the successful Black Mamba chassis, the Green Mamba benefitted from the engineering skills of Territorial Arms Skunk Works. Using the lessons learned during the development of the Chameleon and Snakeye, TASW eliminated the infamous "glass back" of the standard Mamba and installed a second generation, long range, silent running gas turbine engine. TASW was also determined to make a more affordable Gear and used a set of photomorphic stealth tiles that give the Green Mamba its name; the tiles make the Gear appear dark green in the light and shift to appear black in the dark. The Gear is armed with a specially built stealth autocannon and the rocket pod deveoped for the Chameleon.
The Green Mamba entered operation in TN 1931 and has been used extensively by the Legion. It is rumored to have been employed during covert incursions into Northern territory and is known to have participated in punitive operations against SPFI encampments in the Badlands. Territorial Arms produced very few Green Mambas so they remain extremely rare, but the engineers have nonetheless created several modification kits to widen the Gear's operational abilities. Legion technicians have complained that the Green is a high-maintenance machine prone to breakdowns, however.
